Education and government

Security that fits a school district’s budget and a CIO’s board report.

A 24/7 security operations center for K-12 districts, colleges, cities, counties and state agencies. Bought through the IT provider you already use, or directly from us.

The short answer

Vijilan runs a 24/7 security operations center for K-12 school districts, colleges and universities, cities, counties and state agencies, either behind the IT provider you already use or directly. Praxis AI™, the SOC platform Vijilan built, triages every alert at machine speed, and a Vijilan analyst owns every decision across AIDR, endpoint, identity, cloud, network and SaaS. The free first step is a ThreatAssess™ scan of your domain: nothing installed, nothing charged.

Why schools and local government

Targeted more, funded less.

cyber insurers increasingly require specific controls before they will cover a district

Three ways to work with us

Pick the one that matches how you run IT today.

Through your IT provider

Keep the provider you trust.

If an MSP or IT provider already runs your network, we work behind them and they stay your contact. We never compete with our partners for their clients.

ThreatRespond™

Your tools. Our SOC.

Already bought endpoint protection, a firewall or identity tools? We run 24/7 detection and response over what you own, so nothing you paid for is wasted.

How ThreatRespond works

ThreatDefend™

Our stack. Our SOC.

We deploy and run CrowdStrike Falcon for you, and because we own the tooling our analysts can contain a threat, not only advise on it.

How ThreatDefend works
What’s included

Machine speed. Human judgement.

Praxis AI™ is the SOC platform Vijilan built. It does the work that should happen at machine speed: correlating, triaging and preparing the response. A Vijilan analyst owns every decision, at every layer.

AIDR · Endpoint · Identity · Cloud · Network · SaaS
  • A 24/7/365 security operations center, watched by people, not a dashboard someone checks on Monday
  • Praxis AI™ correlates and triages every alert across your connected sources at machine speed
  • A Vijilan analyst investigates and owns the decision on every escalation and every response action
  • Plain-language incident reports a superintendent, city manager or board can read
  • Guided remediation for your IT team, or containment by our analysts when we run the stack
  • Two-way ticketing with the PSA your IT team or provider already works in
The free first step

See what an attacker sees, before anyone signs anything.

ThreatAssess™ maps your district’s or agency’s internet-facing exposure from a domain name. Nothing is installed, nothing is charged, and the findings come back in plain language you can take to a board.

  • Need someone to own the plan? ThreatGovern™ gives you a fractional security lead (vCISO) for the roadmap and the board report. ThreatGovern
  • Want to rehearse a bad day? We run tabletop exercises with your leadership and IT team on a realistic incident. Tabletop exercises

Paying for it

Where the budget usually comes from.

Funding changes often, so confirm current rules with your state agency, E-Rate consultant or grant writer. Federal E-Rate generally funds network infrastructure; managed detection and response usually needs a separate budget or a program such as the FCC’s cybersecurity pilot. State and local cybersecurity grant funding is uncertain while Congress considers reauthorization.

Funding rules as of 21 October 2026.

For IT providers serving districts and agencies

If schools, towns or agencies are your clients, run a 24/7 SOC behind your own brand and keep the relationship. We never compete with our partners for their clients. Partner rates, deal registration and enablement sit behind a quick verification.

Questions

Asked by superintendents, CIOs and county IT directors.

Can we get this through the IT provider we already use?

Yes. If an MSP or IT provider already supports your district or agency, Vijilan works behind them and they stay your point of contact. We never compete with our partners for their clients. If you run your own IT, you can work with us directly.

We already own security tools. Do we have to replace them?

No. ThreatRespond™ puts our SOC over the endpoint, identity, network and cloud tools you already own, so an existing purchase is not written off. If you would rather we bring and run the stack as well, that is ThreatDefend™, on CrowdStrike Falcon.

What compliance documentation can you provide?

Ask us for current compliance documentation. Requirements differ by state, by sector and by contract, so we answer this one directly and in writing rather than on a web page.

Can E-Rate or a grant pay for this?

Funding changes often, so confirm current rules with your state agency, E-Rate consultant or grant writer. Federal E-Rate generally funds network infrastructure; managed detection and response usually needs a separate budget or a program such as the FCC’s cybersecurity pilot. State and local cybersecurity grant funding is uncertain while Congress considers reauthorization.

Where is our data held, and where are the analysts?

Contact us for current data residency and analyst location details. We will answer for your specific environment and contract rather than in general terms.

What does the free scan involve?

You give us a domain and a work email. ThreatAssess™ maps what an attacker can see from the internet, with nothing installed on your network and no charge, and you get the findings in plain language.

Education and government

Tell us about your district
or agency.

Who runs your IT today, what you already own, and when your budget year starts. We will tell you which of the three routes fits, including when the answer is your current IT provider.
